  • Steven L. Stark, 65, Brookfield, died Sunday, August 25, 2013, at Pershing Memorial Hospital, Brookfield.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013,  at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield, with Rev. Bill Montgomery officiating.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. today, Aug. 28, 2013, with the family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Brookfield.
    Memorials for a college fund for his grandchildren (Payable to Judy Stark) may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, PO Box 496, Brookfield, Mo. 64628.
    Steven Lane, was born February 12, 1948, in Laclede, son of Keith and LaVerne (Foster) Stark. On January 23, 1975, he married Judy Beach.
    Steve was a mail carrier for the US Postal Service for 35 years. He was a US Army veteran of Vietnam, and Brookfield VFW and Laclede American Legion. He was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Brookfield, Missouri Jaycees, Curtis Lee Studio Bowling Team, Brookfield Elks Lodge, Brookfield Eagles Lodge, and Brookfield Kiwanis Club. He was a softball coach and umpire for many years and had been ASA District Commissioner. He had served on the Park Board of the City of Brookfield for several years.
    Survivors include his wife, Judy, Brookfield; three children, Stephanie Stark, Philadelphia, Pa., Steve Stark, Jr. and wife, Amy, Brookfield, and Tyler Stark, Columbia; two grandchildren, Jenna Lane and Paige Eileen Stark, both of Brookfield; his mother, LaVerne Stark, Brookfield; four sisters, Shirley Wright and husband, Rodney, Marceline, Sheila Oyler and husband, David, Hardin, Rita Rodriquez and husband, John, Polo, and Penny Williams, Bevier; two brothers, Kenny Stark and wife, Marty, Brookfield, and Eddie Stark and wife, Terri, Lathrop; and other relatives.
    He was preceded in death of his father, Keith Stark; and his grandparents, Jay and Minnie Stark and Nelle Reynolds and Noble Foster.
