Virginia “Ginger” Jacobs, 75, Brookfield, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, in Kirksville.
At her request no services were held.
Virginia Ann was born August 4, 1938, daughter of Melvin and Helen (Cordray) Chaffee. On January 3, 1956, she married Harry Jacobs in Brookfield. He preceded her in death December 25, 2009.
Ginger will be remembered as a wonderful grandma, a cooker of fantastic family meals and a devoted wife and loving mother. It should also be noted that she supplied hundreds upon hundreds of pounds of the best peanut brittle ever made to the folks in the Brookfield area during the holiday season for the last 10 years.
Survivors include her children, Roger and wife, Tama, Ryan and wife, Suzanne, Randy and wife, Denise, and Jason; five grandchildren, Jamison, Jasmine, Julia and Jace, and Richard; a sister, Nora and husband, Lee Brouhard, Kirksville; a brother, Melvin (Sonny) and wife, Judi Chaffee, Trenton; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Iris; and a grandson, Christopher Jacobs.
