Donald Ray Earl, 81, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013.
Memorial services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at Unger Funeral Chapel Silverton. Visitation will be held from 6-8 this evening, Sept. 13, 2013, at the funeral home.

He was born August 19, 1932, son of to Frank C Earl and Helen G Willian of Marceline. He married wife Joy C (Reese) August 2, 1952.
He served in the Korean War from 1952-1954, performing various roles including Tank Commander and Supply Sergeant in the 89th Tank Battalion. He and his wife moved to Silverton, OR in 1955. He became a General Agent in 1958 selling life insurance until the day he died. He was a former member of Silverton Rotary, Country Coach RV Club, and a current member of OHA, RMEF, IRA, Safari Club, and as Charter Member of Silverton Elks Lodge #2210.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Earl; Don Wilfong; sons, Steven Earl and wife, Barbara, and David Earl and wife, Joni; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by one granddaughter.
