Lela Darlene Rosson, 83, Marceline, died Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Life Care Center of Brookfield.
Darlene was bornApril 10, 1930, at Dean Lake, daughter of Clarence and Alice (Wolfe) Atwell. She married Howard Junior Rosson on November 23, 1948. He preceded her in death in 2002.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline, with Rev. David Gouge officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. today, Sept. 24, 2013, at the funeral home in Marceline. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Marceline. Pallbearers will be Michael Strain, Ralph Dorrell, Tim Akers, David Compton, Patrick Dorrell, and Mike Atwell.
Memorials may be made to Marceline First Christian Church Prayer Garden may be left at or mailed to the funeral home at 1720 N. Missouri Ave., Marceline, Mo. 64658.
Darlene had worked at a Mattingly’s and Herff Jones Publishing. She was a member of the Marceline First Christian Church and had been attending Bethany Baptist Church, and was an area resident all her life.
Survivors include three daughters, Lela and Charles Dean, Gladstone; Melody and John Carver, and Georgia Rosson, Marceline; two brothers, Mike Atwell and Howard Atwell, both of Marceline; son-in-law, Ralph Dorrell, Kahoka; three sisters, Patsy Dorrell, Peggy Burns, and Mary Ingerson, all of Marceline; sister-in-law, Mae Winters, Leawood, KS; brother-in-law, Hubert and Mariquita Rosson, New Cambria; four grandchildren, Monica and Mike Strain, Kansas City, Angela and David Compton, Independence, Beverly and Tim Akers, Marceline, and Ryan Dorrell, Marceline; six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Junior; daughter, Cheryl; and brother, Ronnie Atwell.
