  • An investigation into the deaths of a man and a woman in the Climax Springs area looks to be a murder/suicide based on evidence found at the house where the bodies were discovered, the Camden County Sheriff's Office is reporting.
Each victim had sustained a single gunshot wound to the head.
They have been identified as William J. Goodack Jr., 57, and his wife Linda K. Goodack, 65.
Around 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, Camden County detectives responded to the 1200 block of Sunset Shores Drive for a report of an unresponsive female and male.
The calling party reported that they had gone to the home to check on a friend they had not heard from since the day before. Upon arriving at the residence, they found the Goodacks lying in the home unresponsive to voice calls.
The bodies were transported to Springfield, Mo. for autopsy, which is standard procedure in any homicide case. The next of kin was notified and funeral arrangements are pending.
