When the results of our Ripley Park Pond Survey were tallied Friday, nearly 50 readers had responded. What follows are the results: The vast majority (59%) responded, “As a Marceline resident, I would strongly oppose filling in Ripley Park Pond.” 35% responded, “I’m not a Marceline resident, but I really don’t want to visit Ripley Park and not see the pond anymore.” 4% responded, “I live in Marceline, and unless some drastic changes are made to the pond (i.e., address safety and stagnant water concerns), the pond should just be filled in.” 2% responded, “I am undecided about this issue, and I want more information.” None of the respondents favored a playground in the pond’s place.
