Why do people read?  We read for information, inspiration, or simply entertainment. It has always been viewed by the majority, reading is a good way to improve your existence on earth.  I believe this as much as every avid reader I have ever encountered.  But, and I'm going to offend the reading world now, but I truly believe reading, like everything else in your life, should be done in moderation.

When anything else is done to excess, it leads to concerns, so why not reading?  Let me explain.  I have been reading lately what can be considered inspirational stories. And, in fact they have inspired!  But too much inspiration can lead to a feel of inadequacy.  At least that is how I feel today.  To be constantly told that if I were to think right, pray right, or believe just right, miracles can happen.

I do believe in miracles and always will, but it's  exhausting waiting for one and thinking I am not worthy.  So, from now on I'm going to just live my life as best I can.  I will pray, of course; however, I will not let another writer's words seep into my soul.  I will, in moderation, derive inspiration and or information from their words, but in the end I will live my life according to my words, whether they are typed or spoken.  In the end, God will hear both!

I'm reading "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" next!  Whew!!
