Lawson Maurice Ogden, 91, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2013.
He was born April 4, 1922, in Marceline, son of Eva (Cavanah) Ogden and Roy Lea Ogden.
He attended kindergarten through 12th grade in Marceline, graduating in 1939. He play trumpet with Dude Rancheros Band from 1939 – 1942 in Missouri, Illinois and Iowa. He worked at the airplane plant 1942 at Curtis Knight plant, St. Louis. He served in United States Marine Corps 1942 – 1945, served in South Pacific aboard the USS Wichita. He had worked various jobs in Marceline, and in1948 – 1950 Barstow, California US Marine base, 1950 – 1965 US Post Office postal clerk Barstow, Calif., 1965 – 1978 US Post Office for rural mail carrier Fallbrook, Calif., 1978 – 1983 Monroe Cheese Corporation, Monticello, Wisc., and 1983 – 2013 retired to Lake Fairways, North Fort Myers, Fla.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Greenwood Cemetery Monroe, Wisc.
