  • The Brookfield Bulldogs can’t seem to find a break.   Whether it is injury, rain, or both, the team has struggled a bit this season.   Friday night, the Dogs traveled to Macon for a Clarence Cannon Conference battle with the Tigers.
The Brookfield defense opened the game with a three-and-out on the Macon offense.   The Dogs offense would move well early, with runs from Reed McBroom and a nice pass from Anthony Cupp to Dean Gall for a first down.   A second pass later in the drive from Cupp to JJ Abongo would penetrate Macon territory.   But, four plays later, the Brookfield offense would stall out.
Both teams would have one more possession in the opening quarter, with a pair of passes from Cupp to Gall earning a first down for the Dogs, but neither team would score.
In a drive that began late in the opening frame, Macon assembled their only real successful offensive drive of the night.   The Tigers traveled 85 yards on 17 plays.   The score came on a five-yard touchdown pass.   The extra point was no good.

Macon would run two plays, including a stuff from Brycen Corf, Abongo and McBroom, to end the opening half.
    Halftime - Brookfield 0   Macon 12
Both teams would exchange possessions to open the second half.   Brookfield would score on their second possession of the half.   Starting at their own 20, the Dogs would gain a first down on a run by McBroom to the 31.   A pass from Cupp to Corf would take the ball to the Brookfield 45.   Runs by McBroom, and a pass from Cupp to Gall would set up a 34-yard touchdown pass from Cupp to Abongo for the score.   Arturo Huerta added the point-after.
    Q3 5:18 - Brookfield 7   Macon 12
Brookfield would force a Macon three-and-out on their next drive.   A tackle for a loss came from Corf and Tyler Sheppard.   Brookfield would drive the field well on their next drive, with significant gains coming from McBroom, Tucker Noble, and Abongo.   But an interception at the Macon 17 would end the drive.
Page 2 of 2 - Brookfield would have a few more chances at the end zone in this game.   The passing game featured more attempts and completions than nearly   all of the total games for the Dogs this season.   In the end, though, Brookfield would fall to Macon by the same total as in their previous meeting.
