  • Claribel Yagel, 92, Brookfield, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield, with Rev. D. Steven Porter officiating.  Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday with the family receiving friends from 1 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Brookfield.
    Memorials to the American Heart Association may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628.
    Claribel  was born May 19, 1921, in Brookfield, daughter of Fred and Clara (Roberts) Beason. On February 18, 1940, she married Edd Stewart Yagel. He preceded her in death on May 9, 2005.
    Claribel was a homemaker and also worked several years at J. C. Penney’s, Brookfield.  She was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church, Brookfield.
    Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Linda Yagel, Hinton, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Wanda Yagel, Brookfield; two daughters, Lynnette Yearns, Warrensburg, and Jeannette Johnson, Seward, Neb.; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Joyce Yagel, Carrollton, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Michele Ramirez and husband, Tim,Randolph, N.J., David S. Yagel and wife, Amy, Jacksonville, Ark., Brian Yagel and wife, Li, Charleston, S.C., Kelley Baldwin and husband, Jon, Maryville, Laura Yearns, Warrensburg, Spencer Yearns and wife, Kristi, Wichita, Kan., Jodi Porter and husband, Steven, Waco, Texas, Jared Johnson,Eden Prairie, Minn., Lana Penniman and husband, Ryan, Warrensburg, and Clayton Taylor-Yearns and Joseph, Raymore; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Helen Beason, Kettering, Ohio, Lois Guyer, Linneus, and Shirley Sheen, Richmond, Wash.; an aunt, Mary Yagel, Purdin; and several nieces and nephews.
    She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gene Yagel;  a son-in-law, Melvin Johnson; two brothers, Fred Beason and Carl Beason; and two sisters, Frances Koetzner and Berniece Perkins.
