The Brookfield Bulldogs took care of business before the rains fell too much at Burlington Field tonight. The local Dogs downed Trenton's Dogs 42-7.
The game started quickly for Brookfield, who led 28-0 at the half. In the end, Brookfield would allow one score in the second half, but would still thrill the home crowd with a mercy clock win.
Scores for Brookfield came from Anthony Cupp finding JJ Abongo for the pass, Reed McBroom on the ground, and Brycen Corf on the ground.
The Dogs did suffer a key injury, with what appeared to be an un-called late hit took kicker Arturo Huerta out of the game. His status for next week is uncertain.
Brookfield, the four seed, will travel to Lawson to battle the top-seeded team on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the District Semifinals.
