Tuesday, October 29, 2013 was a long day for Bucklin Korean War Veterans James Kosman (United States Navy) and Charles Hulett (United States Army.) Both veterans, who are active members of the American Legion Green Hills Post 57, had signed up at the Missouri State Fair for seats on the Sedalia-based Show-Me Honor Flight. On the night of October 28, they left Bucklin and drove to Sedalia for a bus trip to Kansas City Airport and a flight to Washington D.C., returning to Sedalia October 29. They received a motorcycle escort and fire truck water arch welcoming them back home. The Honor Flight’s mission is to transport America’s military veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices, at no cost to the veteran. Both Hulett and Kosman were jubilant over their Honor Flight seeing everything from Arlington Cemetery, to Iwo Jima, and all the memorials.
