November 8, 1960
JFK elected President
In the closest presidential election since 1888, John F. Kennedy ws elected President of the United States on November 8, 1960, by a margin of just more than 100,000 votes. His election firsts included: the first born in the twentieth century, the youngest ever elected, and the first Catholic.
