Dolores was a lifelong member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Bucklin, where she served as a deacon’s wife and as primary Sunday school teacher for many years.  She was the oldest living active member, attending services most recently on October 27th.  As a housewife, she loved tending her vegetable and flower gardens and helping Roscoe on the farm any way she could.  She was very active in school activities with her girls.  After retiring from the farm and moving into town, she owned and operated Sew’n Go Fabric shop for approximately 15 years, and acquired her real estate license to assist Roscoe in his Strout Realty office.  She was a founding member of the East Linn County Extension Club, a member of the Bucklin Civic Club, a member of the First Steering Committee organizing the BHS Alumni Association, and was on the Pioneer Heritage Board Bicentennial History Book Committee who collected, organized and published The History of the Gateway to the Green Hills (1976).
She is survived by two daughters, Arleta (Roger) Stone of Bucklin, Beverly (Bill) Blackwell of Hallsville; six grandchildren, Randy Stone of Phoenix, AZ, Dennis (Mary) Stone and Kevin (LouAnn) Stone both of Brookfield, Stacie (John) Friedrich of Columbia, LTC Jason (JoEllen) Windsor of Fort Gordon, GA, and Melanie (Steven) Herriman of Bucklin, three step grandchildren, Vicki Whitney of Columbia, Randy Blackwell of Hallsville, and Brent (Tammy) Blackwell of Dallas, TX.  Also surviving are eight great grandchildren and seven step-great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren, two nieces, two nephews, and several cousins.  In addition to her husband Roscoe, she was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Faith McCollum, her only sister, Arlene Forbes, and a step great grandson.
