  • Dogs Out-Dual Tigers in Rivalry Meet

  • The annual dual meet between the Highway 36 Rivalry teams took place last night at Tiger Fieldhouse, as the Marceline Tigers hosted the Brookfield Bulldogs in the latest chapter of their eternal rivalry. While Marceline won more of the contested matches, Brookfield took home the overall win in the dual.

  • The annual dual meet between the Highway 36 Rivalry teams took place last night at Tiger Fieldhouse, as the Marceline Tigers hosted the Brookfield Bulldogs in the latest chapter of their eternal rivalry.  While Marceline won more of the contested matches, Brookfield took home the overall win in the dual.
    The night started at 195, where Reed McBroom won in an open for the Dogs.  At 220, Jordan Elam defeated John Furstenwerth by pinfall in 4:57 to even the score for the Tigers.
    At 285. Dexter Carmichael won by pinfall in 3:00 over Mike Arnold to take back the team score lead for Brookfield.  This would be the final Brookfield lead for a few bouts.
    Dylan Wheeler pinned Anthony Lofstrom in 1:52 for Marceline at 106.  Travis McGowan made it two in a row for the Tigers with a pinfall win in 1:28 over Freddy Ruelas.  Dalton Fisher won in an open at 120 to make it three-in-a-row for Marceline.
    Garrett Zahner got the Dogs off the schnide with a pinfall win in 56 seconds over Alex Cupp.  Brady Stallo got the win over Gage Maxwell in a 14-6 Major Decision for the Tigers.  Drake Menconi won in an open at 145 for Brookfield.
    Nate Florine won for Marceline via pinfall in 3:33 over Jacob McLaughlin at 152.  Andrew Cupp won in an open for Brookfield at 160.  Both teams were open on this night at 170.
    The entire dual came down to the night’s final bout, with JJ Abongo of Brookfield taking on DJ Gerhart for Marceline.  This battle of a senior versus a freshman was won by the senior by pinfall in 3:12.  This gave Brookfield a 42-34 dual victory.
