  • Marjorie McMillen, 100, Phoenix, Ariz., died Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Hospice of the Valley, Glendale, Ariz.
    Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014, in Meadville Cemetery, Meadville. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time for the service Tuesday at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Meadville .
    Memorials to Meadville Cemetery, Grace Lutheran Church (Phoenix, Arizona), or Hospice of the Valley may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, PO Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628.
    Marjorie Victoria, was born January 10, 1914, in Hartford, Conn., daughter of Sven Gustav and Hannah Alfreda (Shoberg) Youngert. On January 25, 1933, she married Harry William McMillen. He preceded her in death November 14, 1974.
    Marjorie was a member of Sigma Pi Delta Sorority at Augustana College, Rock Island, Ill. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Chadron State Teacher’s College, Chadron, Neb. She was a homemaker and had taught elementary school in Casper, Wyo., Cheyenne, Wyo. and Phoenix, Ariz. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma in the teaching profession.
    Survivors include three children, Karen Wentworth, Sun City, Ariz., Jim McMillen and wife, Lexie. Leadville, Colo., and Meredith “Jo” Johnston, Phoenix, Ariz,; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
    She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Beverly Pilant; and four sisters and three brothers.
