Doris was born 1924 in Marceline, daughter of Russell Oldham and Ola Pollard.
She was raised in Kansas City and graduated from Northeast High School. She earned her B.A.  and M.B.A. Degrees from Truman University and her Specialist degree from C.M.S.U. Teaching was always Doris’ passion and she began her teaching career in a one-room schoolhouse near Mendon. She taught for over 50 years, most of it with the Brookfield School District. Family was also very important to Doris. Together she and her husband, Pete, raised two sons. She was especially proud that she was able to help each of her grandchildren receive a college degree. Doris was a strong believer that every person should be treated the same no matter their socioeconomic status or the color of their skin.
Survivors include her two sons, Bob and his partner, Tim Gingrich, and Jim and his wife, Debby (Hall) Marsh, all of Kansas City; a sister, Martha Oldham, Lawrence, Kansas; a granddaughter, Amanda Saxton and husband, Mike, and two great-grandsons, Carson and Keaton, Savannah; a granddaughter, Lauren Marsh, Kansas City; and a grandson, Pete Marsh and wife, Leighanna, Kansas City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Dorothy Landtiser and one great grandchild.
