Pat Cleveland, age 83, of Brookfield, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2014, at the First Presbyterian Church in Brookfield. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery in Brookfield. Visitation will begin Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 in the evening.

Patricia Louise, daughter of Dr. W.B. and Melvina (Corkran) Simpson, was born Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1930, in Brookfield.  Pat was a 1948 graduate of Brookfield High School and graduated from William Woods College in Fulton in 1950.  On December 5, 1953, she married Floyd Cleveland in her parent’s home on North Main Street.
She had worked for the Division of Family Service in Brookfield after college graduation and later worked at The Shoe Tree and Tooey’s in Brookfield. She was currently the office manager at Cleveland Real Estate in Brookfield.
Pat was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Brookfield where she served as an Elder and was an active member of Presbyterian Women. She was a member of Chapter AG of PEO Sisterhood, Athena Club, Mothers Club and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 182 all in Brookfield. She had also been a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the High Flyers Bridge Club for many years.
When recently asked in an interview, “What event in your life do you feel has shaped you the most?” Pat responded with, “Probably marrying my husband Floyd 60 years ago and having three sons, daughter-in-laws and grandchildren.  It’s been a great life and I am so blessed to have lived so many years.”
Survivors include her husband, Floyd of Brookfield; two sons, Doug Cleveland and wife, Becky and Mark Cleveland and his best friend, Melanie Selmon all of Brookfield; two granddaughters, Tricia Cleveland of Brookfield and Amanda Cleveland of Columbia; three step grandchildren, Ian Thudium, Lesley Hane, and Sam Thudium; and seven step great-grandchildren, Collin, Sydnie, Lane,  Emma, Nolan, Lexi and Kendra.   
Her parents; one son, Scott Cleveland; and one brother, Brooks Simpson, preceded her in death.
