  • DADVILLE — This is your fair warning: Father’s Day is June 15.To help prepare you to honor your fathers and father figures, American Greetings’ cardstore.com made a video arguing that being a father is the “Word’s Toughest Job.”You may have seen a fake job interview video from American Greetings around Mother’s Day, claiming that being a mother is the world’s toughest job. But they take a different approach to argue the title actually belongs to dads.American Greetings hired actors to read for the role of “dad” for a TV show that doesn’t exist, giving them a script with a typical dad-and-kids setup. Different actor dads argue with teens, try to get a stubborn kid to eat, and even wrangle a screaming toddler. The actors chose to be different types of dads in the scenarios, from the pushover friend dad to the funny dad to the in-charge dad. And they all do fairly convincing work. But the true challenge comes when the script abruptly stops without resolving the scene, because “there’s no script for being a dad.” The actor dads are then directed to improvise, “doing it the way your dad would have said it to you.” The results are tender and heartfelt, truly making you want to go out and hug a dad today.
