There are no new updates for Locust Creek to report at this time.
The Department of Natural Resource released a Public Notice January 12 announcing plans to excavate silt and debris from an area upstream of an unnamed tributary that flows from Locust Creek to Higgins Ditch. The Linn County Commissioners are happy to hear about this since they have wanted brush removed for some time. No permits have been issued at this time. The Linn County Commissioners meeting opened in regular session this past Tuesday. All the Commissioners were present. The Commissioners looked at the Emergency Management Preparedness Grant, which would provide half the salary for the Emergency Management Director. “The money for this grant would be provided by SEMA (Missouri State Emergency Management Agency),” says Emergency Management Director Gary Redmon. No decisions have been made.
An article going into more detail about the Emergency Preparedness Grant will appear in the printed addition of Linn County Leader at a future date.
Redmon discussed perpetrations for the 2012 budget with the Commissioners as well. No decisions have been made.
