Brookfield Parks and Recreation announced the winners of their annual Christmas home decoration contest on Thursday, December 14.

The annual competition cemented itself in tradition more than 20 years ago. Since then, houses light up with fantastic and dazzling colors for viewers and the opportunity to compete.

Brookfield Parks and Recreation visits local vendors and businesses to accumulate prizes to be given out. This year, over $400 worth of prizes were given to the top three winners. The winners are located on South Monroe, Macon and Livingston streets.

The competition is held to celebrate the holiday festivities in Brookfield. The only restrictions require competitors to live within the city limits and the previous year’s winners aren’t allowed to compete the following year to promote competition.
