Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield had a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce this past Friday.

The funeral home has been in business since 1947 and is one of the newest additions to the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce.

Jim Wright, along with his two sisters Linda Ryan Black and Patricia Wright, are the owners of Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield. Their grandfather started the business when he moved to Brookfield more than 70 years ago. Since then they have changed the name and updated the business.

Many renovations have been made to the funeral home recently including a new computer system, new paint and updated carpeting. New landscaping has also been added around the business. The funeral home also has a new employee named Jet. Jet is a going to be trained as a comfort dog and will be available to people attending the funeral home. Jet has started training and will be certified through the American Kennel Club.

For Julie Wright, business manager of the funeral home, she wants to give back to Brookfield.

“We want to do anything we can to give back to our community,” Wright said. “Being a chamber member is a good way to give back and be involved with the community.”

According to Brookfield Chamber of Commerce executive director Donna Hulett, she is happy to add the funeral home to the chamber membership.

“We’re very proud to have Wright Funeral Home support the chamber and Brookfield,” Hulett said. “They have been an established business in Brookfield for many years and we’re excited.”
