The Licking Tournament came to town for the second weekend in a row Thursday through Saturday, June 14-16. Rolla, St. James and Newburg all had their boys teams compete at the varsity level, while the Lady Tigers were the only local girls varsity team.

The Bulldogs dominated their way through the weekend with a deep lineup, capping off their weekend with a 69-49 win over Sarcoxie in the championship game. They also faced off against St. James Saturday morning, but the short-handed Tigers couldn't keep pace with six players total. All three local schools had players on the All-Tournament team. Rolla's Coby Martin earned MVP honors for the three day tournament, while fellow Bulldog guard Blaize Klossner also earned some recognition. Tyler Recker got the All-Tournament team nod for St. James, while Caleb Austin was recognized for Newburg. Rolla's ninth grade boys also played their way into a championship game, but they fell to Duncan, OK 49-38.

On the girls side of things, the Lady Tigers found success at multiple levels. Their varsity team was able to cap off their weekend with a 51--34 win over Wentzville Holt and had the tournament Co-MVP in Bailey Wells. She shared that honor with Fair Grove's Alana Findley. Mikaela Donnelly also earned a spot on the All-Tournament team for St. James. The Lady Tigers also had a stellar showing at the junior high level, as St. James won the junior high championship 55-39 over John Burroughs.
