Early Tuesday morning a Macon County Deputy shot an individual twice, after the suspect pulled a gun on the officer.
The individual was pulled over in Bevier for a traffic stop. He was transported to a Columbia hospital following the incident.
At approximately 3:57 a.m. a Macon County Deputy pulled over a truck in Bevier for a traffic stop. Just after pulling the vehicle over, the driver of the truck exited the passenger side of his vehicle with a rifle pointed at the deputy. The deputy fired at the individual, striking him at least twice.
The driver was secured until more deputies could arrive onscene. After the other deputies arrived, the suspect was transported by EMS to a Columbia hospital.
The Macon County Deputy was not injured during the incident. The Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop B assisted the Macon County Sheriff’s office at the scene. The ongoing investigation is being run the Missouri State Highway Patrol Drug and Crime Division.
No further information will be provided about the incident until the investigation has been completed.
