Brookfield Railroad Days featured fun, food and railroad history for area families this Saturday.

The second annual event provided information for all ages on Brookfield’s railroad history and heritage.

Brookfield Railroad Days began Saturday at 9 a.m. The event included fun, games, local and railroad history and a hobo lunch provided by Pepsi. The free event allowed kids and parents to learn about Brookfield’s railroad heritage.

Area families attended the event at the Brookfield Library to take miniature train rides through Brookfield and learn to drive railroad spikes through hail bails. The free event included a tour through the caboose just off of Main Street.

This is the second annual celebration remembering Brookfield’s railroad history. The event was sponsored by the Brookfield Library, Main Street Revitalization Committee and BNSF.
