The Missouri Public Service Commission is joining a national effort to promote the Lifeline Program during National Telephone Discount Lifeline Awareness Week, the week of Sept. 10-14.
The Lifeline Program provides discounts to help eligible low-income customers stay connected to phone service and the opportunities and security it provides. Funding from the program comes from the federal universal service fund.
Customers may be eligible for assistance if their annual household income is at or below 135 percent of the federal poverty level, or if a member if the household is enrolled in any of several public assistance or disability benefit programs. Eligible customers may receive a discount of up to $15.75 per month.
Contact your local landline or wireless telephone provider to find out if you qualify, or visit lifelinesupport.org.
