A large piece of legislation could have some far-reaching effects for parents, teachers, kids and schools if passed through the Missouri Legislature. House Bill 1943 (HB 1943) has many items tucked into it's 33-pages. This feature will deal with the sections concerning summer school, and how these changes could affect local districts.

The Marceline R-5 Board of Education met in regular session on Monday evening with all members present. At this meeting, the Summer Journey program was approved, a donation was made to Lion's Field, and a problem with the new gym floor was discussed.

Last week, a press release from Brookfield R-3 School Board President Jeff Vogel announced the hiring of Dr. Kyle Collins as the new Superintendent of Schools for the R-3 District. Collins comes to Brookfield from the Ash Grove School District.
