BROOKFIELD — Since May 26, when Brookfield Sesquicentennial Headquarters opened at 300 North Main, $2,000 worth of Sesquicentennial merchandise and souvenirs have been sold. But don’t worry, there’s plenty more, and thanks to a small group of volunteers, Sesquicentennial Headquarters is open all day long (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.), Monday through Friday.
As Sesquicentennial week (July 20-26) gets closer, Headquarters will be open Saturdays and evenings as well.
The office space has been generously donated by Larry Graves, and Debbie Smith and Dana Tarpening have decorated Sesquicentennial Headquarters in a fashion that’s sure to get patrons in the mood to celebrate Brookfield’s 150th birthday bash.
Thanks to Nancy Saccaro and Sherry Baker Sesquicentennial Headquarters is well stocked with souvenirs that will be treasured in the years to come.
Among the Sesquicentennial keepsakes and merchandise available for sale are hats, vests, garters, ornaments, t-shirts, and koozie cups.
Tickets to the July 25th Tracy Lawrence concert ($20 each) are also available as well as Historic Tour tickets, brochures, and Brookfield maps listing places of interest out-of-town guests will want to visit.
The plates, pictured on the front page, center left of today’s Linn County Leader, were beautifully designed and painted by Brookfield native Sarah Williams.
Every patron who stops in at Sesquicentennial Headquarters will receive a free wooden nickel and postcard.
