To All My Wonderful Supporters,
Well I made it again!! SIXTY more miles down to help find a cure!!  This walk was truly amazing and far better than the first.  I feel my preparation for this walk was much better than before and I think just being older and wiser, I knew I had to exceed what I thought was “getting into shape.”   I finished 60th out of 3,500 walkers and it felt so good to walk across that finish line.  It’s hard to believe that it is already over, after 7 months of preparation it’s as if it just flew by and it all still seems surreal.
Thanks to all of you, my journey was one I will never forget and something that I will cherish forever.  I personally raised $4,300.00 this year, which exceeded my goal by a $1,000.00. The Boobie Bash was more than a success back in August and was so much fun!    There is no other community I could count on other than Brookfield and the surrounding towns!  You truly are angels and amazing supporters!
This year in Texas the walkers raised over 7.5 million dollars to help find a cure!  I have never been around so many wonderful people in my life.  I’ve never seen such a great turnout for Cheer Stations.  There were hundreds of people lined up on the streets to cheer us on.  They had balloons, noise makers, posters and even small thank yous to hand out along the way.  We walked by four elementary schools where every single child had a pink balloon in their hand, gave us a high five and had something on that was pink.  Breast cancer victims and survivors were along the route cheering us on and making sure we never gave up. The first day we walked 24 miles, the second 22, and the third was 14. The weather was 80, sunny and [made more tolerable by] a little Texas breeze.
I learned that in Texas, they do everything “bigger” and “better,” well that stayed true to their mileage as well!  Missouri miles are a little shorter than Texas miles!  Texas is such a beautiful state and I got to see so many things.  We walked in Dallas, Addison, Richardson and Farmers Branch.  I got to walk by the Grassy Knoll where J.F.K. was shot, a unique suspension bridge in Addison and former President George Bush’s house. That was pretty cool and it was so beautiful. I saw some houses that were literally the biggest houses I’ve seen in my life, and I got to meet just the most amazing people.
