It was just a matter of time before winter arrived and we hope everyone was safe on the roads earlier this week. Remember if you’re looking for a great place to workout or just hangout the YMCA is climate controlled so it’s always comfy in here.
On Monday February 20 the new fitness sessions start at The Y and we have many classes to choose from. Classes from weightlifting to Zumba to youth fitness we have something for everyone. If you can’t make it next week, then come on in when you have time. Fitness class participants can start anytime during the session and still get a great workout. Don’t be shy come on in to see what we have to offer..
Y Winners basketball only has one week remaining and has been very successful this year. We would like to thank all of the volunteer coaches, parents, and players and congratulate them on a job well done this year regarding sportsmanship. We are a Christian based organization with Christian values so this is very important to us.
Parents, be sure to check your kids’ backpacks in the next couple of weeks because we are sending home from school the registration forms for spring soccer and flag football. The early bird registration deadlines for these programs are Monday March 5. The fees after March 5 will be a little greater. We do this to encourage participants to sign up early so that we can get teams split up and jerseys ordered. If you are interested in coaching a team please mark that on the registration form and we will call you to coach. We are hoping to start games around the first part of April.
We are trying to enforce that every YMCA member that checks in at the front desk to please use your membership card and scan in. We have had an influx of members not using their cards. By using the cards provided to you when you joined it speeds up the check in process and we can better track our membership usage. If you need a membership card please inquire at the front desk and they can get you fixed up.
