This week twenty people from Brookfield, ten from Marceline and several others from around the County arrived in Jefferson City for the annual Great Northwest Days at the Capital.  Brookfield has been involved for numerous years in this event which offers us an opportunity to showcase our community to high ranking state department personnel, Legislators and statewide elected officials.  The Brookfield Area Growth Partnership has developed a first class traveling display unit over the several years of our involvement and each year we focus it on different business & industries and other elements of our community that best exemplify Brookfield’s most impressive attributes.  Northwest Days is a time to “rub elbows” with the folks who can have an impact on this area’s future success and growth - you can bet these opportunities do not slip by without the best efforts from our local leadership.
The Linn County Community Chorus will begin practices for the spring concert on Thursday, Feb. 23rd, 7 p.m. at the 1st Christian Church in Brookfield.  The concert is scheduled for Sunday, May 6th, 2 p.m. and will also be held at the 1st Christian Church.  As always the Chorus welcomes both new and former members.  To join the group you need only begin coming to our weekly practices.  If interested you can check on the music selections in advance by contacting me, our Director Roselle Heller, or one of our other officers; Jinny Moore, Kathi Stuart and David Jenkins.  All music selections will be available for purchase during the first three or four practices. We guarantee a good time whether you choose to sing with the Chorus or just sit in the audience the day of the concert.
