A pair of accidents over the weekend have ended the lives of a pair of Linn County residents.
Saturday at 7:47 p.m. a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Etta E. Short, 63 of Ethel, was southbound on Highway 63 and struck a dead deer on the roadway.  The vehicle continued southbound and ran off the right side of the road, striking a tree and overturning.
The vehicle came to rest on its wheels off the roadway. Short was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased by the Adair County Coroner.
Short’s Grandson’s were also involved in the accident.  Dallas Short, 12, and Wyatt Short, 13,  both suffered moderate injuries.  Mrs. Short was not wearing her safety device.
