Judy Kay Weatherspoon, 77, of Columbia, Missouri went home to be with her Lord on March 12, 2018 with her loving family at her side.

Judy Kay Weatherspoon, 77, of Columbia, Missouri went home to be with her Lord on March 12, 2018 with her loving family at her side.

Judy was born to Lowell Nelson Gosser and Leilah Lorene Perry on April 4, 1940 in Kirksville, Missouri. After attending school in Kirksville, Judy married Larry Joe Anderson of Queen City, Missouri in 1955. Their union lasted twenty-five years and produced four children. Judy stayed at home to raise her children and help Larry run the 330-acre family farm in Livonia, Missouri until 1976 when the family moved to Kirksville.

In 1980 Judy married Robert Lee Weatherspoon of Jerk Tail, Missouri. Judy and Robert settled in Columbia where Judy enjoyed her work in sales at Sofas and More, working there for over twenty years.

Judy was a proud mother and grandmother who loved Jesus and her family. Judy’s children and grandchildren will forever cherish their memories of her lively laughter, warm hugs, affectionate nicknames, and “Nana’s mac-n-cheese.”

Preceding her in death are her parents, Lowell Gosser and Leilah Gosser Allen. Surviving are her four children Daniel Dean Anderson of Kirksville, Missouri, Tracie Lynn Bethea (Jody) of San Diego, California, Kim Renee Baize of Columbia, Missouri, and Larry Dale Anderson (Jo Ellen) of Chillicothe, Missouri, brother Lowell Gosser of San Diego, California, sister Patti Hubeny of Kansas City, Missouri, fifteen grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Praise Assembly of God Church in Columbia, Missouri. Jared Baize, Jody Bethea, Joshua Bethea, Zach Bethea, Andrew Warren, and Jim Bergman served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Nathan Baize, Aaron Bethea, Blake Crabtree, Cameron Moore, and Steve Ven Huizen.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice Compassus of Columbia, Missouri.
