Patricia Ann Jagger Kirkpatrick, 69, of Columbia, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 at her home due to multiple medical complications.

Visitation with family will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 13 at Midway Locust Grove United Methodist Church, 2600 North Locust Grove Church Road, Columbia. Memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m.

Pat was born Sept. 5, 1948 in Munich, Germany to Major Donald Jagger, U.S. Air Force, and the former Nadine Shepherd Watson Trial of Columbia.

Pat grew up in Florida and moved to Missouri in 1961. She lived at the Watson farm, up the hill from Midway Church, until she married.

In 1966, she graduated from David H. Hickman High School. She attended Stephens College for two years, then transferred to the University of Missouri Columbia and completed her Bachelor of Science degree.

She was office manager and bookkeeper for Sapp Construction and then worked as office manager of the Boy Scouts of America, Great Rivers Council, retiring from the BSA after 24 years.

Pat was an active member and leader of the Columbia American Legion Auxiliary for decades. A big supporter of Missouri Girls State, she also organized and led the local annual Auxiliary Poppy Sale Program. Sales from poppies assist disabled and hospitalized veterans in our community.

Pat loved beach combing each summer in Hampton, Va. She enjoyed shopping at flea markets and consignment shops. An avid collector of handmade rabbits, her bunny nest collection grew and grew and grew.

Pat was involved in numerous church and school activities. She sang in the choir, poured ice tea and delivered apple pie at church dinners, and led Methodist Youth Fellowship activities. A Hickman twirler, she was a life-long Kewpie Girl, meeting often to laugh with fellow graduates.

A natural athlete, she learned to water ski as a child and continued to fly behind boats at the Lake of the Ozarks for years. A skilled bowler, she was sought after as a partner in competitive leagues. She loved golf, tether ball, badminton, archery, roller skating and softball. For the past ten years, she was a regular at Wilson Gym’s Body Pump Classes.

Pat traveled back to Germany many times to visit family and tour her homeland where both grandsons were born while her son-in-law was in the U.S. Army.

Pat married Gary Lee Kirkpatrick in 1968. Their daughter, Rebecca LeeAnn, and grandsons, Samuel Lewis (a.k.a. Trey) and William Zadock Jock, moved to Kirksville, where Pat loved attending the boys’ sports games and spent many weekends with them. Each summer, they took family vacations together.

Pat made you laugh. She saw humor everywhere and did not judge people. She took everyone as they came.

Pat is survived by husband, Gary Kirkpatrick of Columbia; daughter, Becky Jock of Kirksville; grandsons, Trey and William Jock of Kirksville; sisters, Janice Jagger Schuerman of Columbia, Sandi Jagger Gauthier and Arleen Jagger Hensley of Barhamsville, Va.; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of close friends.
