Betty Gail Watson, 77, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at Boone Hospital in Columbia.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6 at Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Thursday, June 7 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Jerry Coleman. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Betty was born on July 27, 1940 in Huntsdale, the daughter of Clarence and Marie (Morgan) Daly who preceded her in death.
She was married to Marvin Sapp and they had five daughters. She then was married on August 31, 1973 in Boone County to Claudus “CA” Watson.
Betty was a member of the Eagles Club and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She owned and operated Steager Lee’s Restaurant and Lounge in Columbia.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, CA Watson of the home; five daughters, Pat Wehmeyer (Glenn) of Rocheport, Pam Cook (Mac) of Columbia, Paula Netemeyer (Dan) of Clark, Priscilla Stone (Robert Aitkens) of Clark, and Portia O’Laughlin (Jerry) of Columbia; step-son, Tommy Watson of Columbia; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-granchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Chase Senor; and two brothers, Lester Daly and Jimmie Daly.
