John Peter Lorentzen Jr., age 81, of Sturgeon, Missouri died at The Neighborhoods by Tiger Place, Columbia, Missouri on June 24, 2018. Mr. Lorentzen was born April 22, 1937, the son of John Peter Lorentzen and Mary Veronica (Schranz) Lorentzen of Cahokia, IL. On Jun 6, 1959 he married Eleanor Ann (Frierdich) Lorentzen. They lived in Cahokia, IL for 20 years. Mr. Lorentzen attended Immaculate Conception grade school of Centerville, Illinois, Cahokia Commonfields High School (Class of 1955) of Cahokia, Illinois, and McKendree College of Lebanon, Illinois. He was a member of the Dupo teacher’s union of Dupo, Illinois, Bluff Grange of Milstadt, Illinois, and the Masonic Lodge of Centralia, Missouri. John and Eleanor moved with their family of four to Sturgeon, Missouri in October, 1979.

Surviving is his daughter: Catherine A. (Cathy) Perkins and husband George of Prairie Home, Missouri; son: John P. Lorentzen III and wife Becky of Sturgeon, Missouri; daughter: Sharon A. Stallings and husband Rick of Sterling, Kansas; son: Robert E. Lorentzen and wife Rachelle of Bondurant, IA. Nine grandchildren: Michelle Tomlin; Zach Lorentzen; Jacob Lorentzen; Johnna Lorentzen; Joseph Lorentzen; Tanner Stallings; Sarah Stallings; Matthew Lorentzen; Lauren Lorentzen and two great granddaughters: Clara Lorentzen and Kylie Sirois. Other surviving family includes one sister: Margaret Ann Pickett, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Eleanor and their infant son Loren Joseph Lorentzen, and his brother Gene Lorentzen.

Services will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Centralia, Missouri on Thursday June 28, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. Officiating will be Father James Offutt, Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Centralia Missouri. Interment will be at Mount Horeb Cemetery, in Sturgeon, Missouri. Visitation at Fenton Funeral Chapel in Centralia will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday Jun 27, 2018.
