Robert Wayne Couch
Robert Wayne Couch, age 84 of Marceline, died Friday, October 12, 2018. Robert was born in Marceline, Missouri on September 22, 1934 to Wayne C. and Isabelle (Briggs) Couch. His first marriage was to Linda O. Lockwood and they had one child, Rhonda. He married second Mary F. Teeter and married third May Marie (Bartee) Epperson and she survives him.
Robert lived in Marceline all his life except for 2 years’ service in the Army and 3 years while employed by NASA in Huntsville, AL. He was associated with the automobile business most of his life. He was an all-state football player for MHS his senior year. He spent endless hours working on the genealogy of the Couches. He was an expert class checker player and played in many tournaments in Missouri and also in Kansas, Iowa and Illinois. He won the Kansas State Tournament in 1990 and won the Missouri State tournament in 1997. With that win he was the Missouri State Champion in checkers for the year.
He is survived by his wife May of the home in Marceline, daughter Rhonda (Manny) Juncos and family of Chino, California, one sister Annie George, Marceline and five step children.
