Leta Josephine (Tuggle) Sparks, 85, Meadville, formerly of Kansas City and Trenton, died Sunday, June 14, 2009, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hamilton. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Hamilton, under the direction of Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton.
Memorials to the church may be left at the funeral home.
Leta was born November 10, 1923, in Hamilton, daughter of Frank and Rosa (Riley) Tuggle. She married Harold Sparks, Cameron, October 24, 1945. He preceded her in death.
In 1951, she and her husband moved to Kansas City. While living there, she worked as an abstractor for the Chicago Title Company and at the Jackson County Courthouse for the County Recorder of Deeds. In 1976, they retired and moved to Meadville, where she worked as a nurse’s aid at Pershing Hospital until 1986.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Frizzell, Meadville, and Martha Campbell, Trenton; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and two brothers.
