Herman Lyle Shaw, 80, Milan, died Monday morning, June 22, 2009, at Northeast Regional Medical Center, Kirksville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home, Milan. Visitation will be held from 6-8 Tuesday evening, June 23, 2009, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Milan.
Memorials to the Sullivan County Senior Center, Milan, may be left at or mailed to the funeral home at 120 W. Fourth St., Milan, Mo. 63556.
He was born August 26, 1928, in Cora, son of Von and Myrtle (Page) Shaw. He married Betty Rae Bartimus, April 27, 1951, in Milan. She preceded him in death May 18, 2009.
Lyle lived most of his life in the Milan area where he farmed and worked for the Missouri Department of Revenue as an auditor of license bureaus. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific, Guam, and the Bikini Islands.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Randy Shaw, Milan, and David Shaw and wife, Brookfield; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Shaw and wife, Marceline, and Jack Shaw and wife, Milan; one sister, Vondene Quigley and husband, Marceline; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
