Donald Lee Moffitt, 67, Macon, formerly of Winigan and Kirksville, died Tuesday afternoon, March 2, 2010, near his home following a fall from a mule.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2010, at Glenn E. Kent & Son Funeral Home, Green City, with Steve Young officiating. Music will be provided by Julie King and Damon and Cheryl Crist. Visitation will be held from 5-8 this evening, March 4, 2010, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Winigan Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Nathan King, Matthew Moffitt, Wayne Baker, Bennie Long, Larry Carmack and Robert Ware. Honorary bearers will be Jamie King, Vernon Reed, Ronnie Switzer and Jerry Parrish.

He was born September 14, 1942, in Kirksville, son of Howard Donald and Garnett (Bailey) Moffitt. He married Cheryl Lynn Baker, January 19, 1964. She preceded him in death December 6, 1975. They were the parents of two children. He then married Judy Mae Kirkpatrick, November 1, 1986. She preceded him in death March 6, 1996. He then married Deborah Lynn Duncan, October 18, 1997.
He was raised in the Winigan community and graduated in 1961 from Green City High School. Following graduation he was employed in Kansas City until returning to the Winigan area in the mid-1960s. He worked with area farmers, and had worked for Toastmater, Inc., for 30 years in Kirksville and Macon. Following his retirement in 1996, he farmed in the Winigan community before moving in 2007 to Macon. He was a member of Winigan Christian Church, the Moose Lodge, Kirksville, Winigan 4-H Club, Macon Saddle Club and Macon YMCA.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah, of the home; his mother, of Winigan; two children, Michael Moffitt, Winigan, and Michelle Hall, Sturgeon; four step-children, Amber Guthrie, Moberly, Rustin Garnett, New Bloomfield, Lisa Griffin, Worthington, and Derick Kirkpatrick, Blue Springs; one sister, Dianne King, Macon; two brothers, John Moffitt, Winigan, and Howard (Howie) Moffitt, Trenton; two grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his father on September 18, 2009.
