Marlin Glenn Brown, 72, Keytesville (Lake Nehai), died Monday, June 15, 2009, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009, in Carroll Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Carrollton, with Rev. Carl Cowick officiating. A family clebration of life will be held from 7-9 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2009, in the Lake Nehai Clubhouse basement.
In lieu of flowers memorials to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Bynumville, the American Cancer Society, or the American Lung Association may be left at or mailed to Summerville Funeral Home, 506 N. Blevins Dr., Salisbury, Mo. 65281.
He was born October 26, 1936, in Grand Rapids, Minn., son of Clarence and Mary (Harmon) Brown. He married Caryl Joyce Sparks, June 9, 1962, in Crosby, N.D.
Mr. Brown worked for PAG/Cargil Company as a hybrid seed corn breeder in Carrollton from 1967 until 1990, and in Seward, Neb., from 1990 until he retired in 1992. He was a member of Marceline Eagles and a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Men’s Club.
Survivors include his wife, Caryl, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Kerry Brown, Olathe, Kan.; a daughter and son-in-law, Krista and Douglas Cowick, Carrollton; two grandchildren, Megan and Garrett Brown; three step-grandchildren, Chad Cowick, Lacey Hinote, and Cassidy Cowick; six step-great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Murvin and Mary Ann Brown, Miles City, Mont., and Myron and Jeanette Brown, Center, N.D.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Arlene and John Garrett, Sikeston, and Ellen Jones, Wichita, Kan.; a half-sister, Bernice Weise, state of California; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Toby.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Chad William Brown; and a half-brother, Billy Corwin.
