Glenn Roderick Duncan, 91, Purdin, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Life Care Center of Brookfield.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2009, in Purdin Cemetery, Purdin. The family will receive friends at the Purdin Community Center following the services.
Memorials to the Purdin Community Center may be left at or mailed to Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, Mo. 64628.
Glenn Roderick was born March 21, 1918, in Meadville, son of William Hayden and Susan Mae (Palmer) Duncan. He married Frances Lorene Smith, July 6, 1940. She preceded him in death April 6, 1996.
Glenn started working at Purdin Mercantile in 1941 and became President of the company in 1973. He retired with more than 50 years of service to the company. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn R. (Buddy) Jr. and Fern Duncan, Jefferson City, Edward L. and Thelma Duncan, Lawson, and Fred R. and Elaine Duncan, Purdin; six grandchildren, Shelly Milford, Marceline, Tammy and husband, Dan Ridgeway, Jefferson City, Kim and husband, Rex Betz, Marshall, Lance and wife, Missi Duncan, Rayville, Tish Duncan and husband, Brandon Cline, Chicago, and Tyler Duncan, Austin, Texas; 10 great-grandchildren, Megan Milford, Sam and Max Betz, Ian DeFries, Danica and Carson Ridgeway, Matthew, Shelby and Savannah Duncan and Edy Cline.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Stanley and Ralph Duncan; and three sisters, Berdine Brooks, Edith Clark and Vera VanDyke.
