Jean Smith, 76, Brookfield, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center, Marceline.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, with Rev. Bill Montgomery officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 10 a.m. until service time.

Jean was born March 28, 1933, in Fairport, daughter of Henry Alvin and Mary Francis (Wright) Rhoades. She married Raymond Eugene Smith, April 21, 1951, in Gallatin. He preceded her in death October 13, 2008.
Survivors include six daughters and four sons-in-law, Pam and Bill Rampy and Mary and Leland Hoffsette, Brookfield, Erma and Doug Mackesty, Emma, Anita and Larry Fiala, Marceline, Barbara Russell, Harris, and Carol Fordyce; 15 grandchildren, Brian Slater, Cindy and husband, Robert Buckallew, Samantha Rampy and fiance, Daniel, and Jessica Rampy, Brookfield, Tommy, Kayla and April Fiala, Marceline, Amanda Fiala, Columbia, Mathew Keso, Emma, Brandy Kiso, Marshall, Mericia Slater, Laclede, Emily and husband, Ryan Talken, Orongo, Laura Hoffsette and fiance, William, Blue Springs, and Jonathan and wife, Rosa Degeare, and Kendall and wife, Stacie Weiseman, Milan; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
