Helen Edna Essig, 93, Marceline, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at Pershing Memorial Hospital, Brookfield.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline, with Rev. Barry Pfister officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Marceline.
Memorials to Marceline First Baptist Church of First Baptist Church, Linneus, may be left at or mailed to the funeral home at 1720 N. Missouri Ave., Marceline, Mo. 64658.
Helen was born December 19, 1916, in Lagonda, daughter of John and Rosa (Wayland) Hulett. She married Raymond Benjamin Essig, February 5, 1939, in Bynumville. He preceded her in death October 12, 1990.
Helen was a homemaker and a member of Marceline First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Rex Essig and Wesley and Jane Essig, Buckner; a daughter and son-in-law, Raylene and Floyd Jefferson, Linneus; seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Geneva Minks, Inez Walter and Gladys Lehnhoff; and a brother, Victor Hulett.
