Rachel Lois “Peggy” Ankeney-Bott, 93, Columbia, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2010, at Epple Chapel at Lenoir Woods.
Peggy was born August 28, 1916, in Lake Nebagomon, Wisc., daughter of Charles A. and Lulu Mae (Mohler) Earhart.
She worked in food service including operating Peggy’s Lunch, Oskaloosa, Iowa, for 16 years, and as a cook for William Penn College, Oskaloosa. In 1976, she and her husband, Harold, moved to Arizona, where she worked for the Tucson School District. After his death, she later married Donald Bott. They retired to Lenoir Woods, Columbia. He also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons and a daughters-in-law, Harrold and Nancy Ankeney, Columbia, and David and Christine Ankeney, Marceline; a daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Larry Turnquist, Rockford, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two step-sons and their wives, Travis and Susan Bott and Tyler and Tillie Bott.
She was also preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters and one granddaughter.
Memorials may be sent to the Salvation Army.
