Mabel Louise Almond, 86, New Boston, died Monday, March 8, 2010, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline, with Rev. Brian Baker officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 this evening, March 10, 2010, at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Boston Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Riley, Joe Lodder, Cory Marler, Aaron, Ryan and Kevin Almond.

Mabel was born October 25, 1923, in New Boston, daughter of Virgil and Laura (Yochim) Morelock. She married Carl Clifford Almond, October 25, 1946.
Mabel had worked at Whitaker Cable, Brookfield, was the Postmaster at New Boston for 17 1/2 years, and substitute Postmaster for five years. She was a member of New Boston Christian Church and a New Boston resident all of her life.
Survivors include her husband, Carl, New Boston; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Mary Carol Almond, New Boston; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Almond, New Boston; eight grandchildren, Heather Riley and Jim, Aaron Almond, Ryan Almond and Trina Haley Almond, Cory Marler, Kari Lodder and Joe, Kristin Almond, Kevin Almond and Kelsey Almond; five great-grandchildren, Damara and Sierra Riley, Jaron and Jordyn Almond and Maria Lodder.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Virgil Herman and David Lynn Almond; one infant daughter; one brother, Clifford; and one infant brother.
