Ernestine Hirsch, 93, Walnut Creek, Calif., formerly of Marceline, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at John Mir Medical Center, Walnut Creek, Calif.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline, with Rev. Jason Moore officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Marceline.
Ernestine was born February 12, 1917, in Marceline, daughter of Edgar H. and Allie B. (Williams) Reece. She married Jean Woodrow Hirsch. He preceded her in death in 1988.
She worked in Reece’s on Main Street, Marceline, which was owned by her mother. She was a homemaker and had also worked as manager of an ice cream shop and apartment complex in Tallahassee, Fla. She was a member of the P.E.O., Sorosis Women’s Club and Marceline First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, William Reece and Kathryn Hirsch, Walnut Creek, Calif., and Brad Hirsch, El Sobrante, Calif.; and a niece, Janet Parsley.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
