Virgil “Duke” Siemens, Jr., 75, Bucklin, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, in rural New Cambria.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Feb. 22, 2010, at Delaney Funeral Home, Bucklin, with Rev. Tim Mitchell officiating. Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at the funeral home in Bucklin. Burial with military honors was in New Cambria Cemetery.
He was born June 9, 1934, in New Cambria, son of Virgil and Mabel (Tuttle) Siemens.
Virgil was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in the Korean War. He was a logger and raised cattle. He was a member of the VFW, Brookfield, and an area resident all of his life.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Siemens, New Cambria, and Greg Siemens, Macon; longtime companion, Opal Witt, of the home in Bucklin; one brother, Charles “Buddy” Siemens, New Cambria; one sister, Cleo Beale, Independence; six grandchildren, James Michael Richardson, Clarissa Smith, Michael Ray, Jr., Michelle Renae, Evan Alex and Shelly Nacole Siemens; one step-grandson, Anthony Witt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister.
