Edna Kennedy, 90, Eagle Lake, Texas, formerly of Meadville, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at Rice Medical Center, Eagle Lake, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at First Baptist Church, Meadville, with Rev. Will Douglas and Rev. Rex Leppin officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Meadville, with the family receiving friends from 6-8 that evening at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling.
Memorials to First Baptist Church, Meadville, may be left at the funeral home in Meadville or mailed to P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, Mo. 64628.
Edna Mae was born September 26, 1919, in Milan, daughter of Ray and Ollie Mae (Miller) Brown. She married Raymond W. Caselman, July 5, 1951. He preceded her in death March 16, 1975. She then married Virgil K. Kennedy in 1992. He also preceded her in death November 13, 1999.
Mrs. Kennedy was owner and operator of Caselman’s Cafe, Meadville, for several years. She attended First Baptist Church, Meadville.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Lena and James Johnson, Eagle Lake, Texas; one step-son, Raymond and wife, Hollie Caselman, Meadville; one step-daughter, Elizabeth Kersten, Omaha, Neb.; seven grandchildren, Chad Kersten, Boone, Iowa, Jessie Kersten, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Lana Hoopingernar and husband, Robert, Temple, Texas, Lonny Harris and wife, Sarah, Splindora, Texas, Deah Renee Aldy and husband, Kevin, Maurice, La., Jamie Hutchison and wife, Andrea, Sylvania, Ala., and Danelle Hutchison, Eagle Lake, Texas; 15 great-grandchildren, Kristie Hoopingernar, Temple, Texas, Erin, Chase, Ashley, Colby, Destiny and Cheyenne Harris, Splindora, Texas, Brett, Kyle, Justin and Kevin Aldy, Maurice, La., and Padro and Cheyenne Cortez and Landon and Rebecca Hutchison, Eagle Lake, Texas.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two great-granddaughters, Lauren and Gabby Hoopingernar; four brothes, Joe, Buck, Leo and Ray Brown; and two sisters, Irene Brown and Faye Scrivens.
