Thelma Fern Buttman, 79, Chillicothe, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at Indian Hills Retirement Village, Chillicothe.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. today, Jan. 18, 2012, in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe. There is no scheduled visitation but friends called from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe.

She was born November 10, 1932, in Eversonville, daughter of Lloyd and Lavon (Ewing) Engleman. She married Ronald L. Simpson in March 1951. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1957. She then married Clarence W. Buttman in September 1981. He also preceded her in death in 2005.
She lived in the Eversonville and Meadville areas until she graduated in 1950 from Meadville High School. After graduation, she was employed with Green Hill Grocery, Chillicothe. She later worked for B&R Warehouse and Savage Grocery.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Michael Landino, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Lisa and Rodney Jones, Chillicothe; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Tamra Simpson, St. Joseph; eight granddaughters, Bridget Simpson, Jennifer Austill, Kimberly Spainhour, Rebekkah (Anthony) Martin, Hilary and Angel Simpson, Laura (Cory) Hanavan, and Kelsey Jones; 10 great-grandchildren; a step-son, Donald (Pilar) Buttman, Kansas City; a step-daughter, Madonna (Alvin) Tiemeyer, Meadville; six step-grandchildren, David (Jenny) Buttman, Brenda Buttman, Donnie Buttman, Connie (Jeff) Buswell, Peggy (Max) Simmons and Max (Tonya) Tiemeyer; three brothers, Lloyd (Peggy) Engleman, Weatherby Lake, James (Vivian) Engleman, Chillicothe, and Jerry Engleman of California; three sisters, Janet Roark, Gladstone, Nancy (William) Gooch, Warrenton, and Sherry Goldsmith, Calabasas, Calif.; many step-great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronald L. Simpson, Jr.; and two step-granddaughters, Bonnie Tiemeyer and Patsy Scott.
